Omar joined us in April 2016 after returning from travelling. He had a background in Sales Account Management but no experience in the IT sector or recruitment delivery.
Over the last couple of years, Omar has become our top biller and has managed a team on one of our most important accounts. He’s now moving to a new challenge as a Business Development Executive in our IT Solutions division.
How have you been supported by Jumar?
In the beginning, I had a lot of classroom training around IT to help me understand exactly what we recruit for. It was great to have our IT Solutions team onsite to chat to and ask about their day-to-day roles – it really helped to boost my knowledge quickly and make me a more credible recruiter. I’ve had constant on-the-job training from my manager and the rest of the team and was offered professional qualifications for People Management when I moved into the Team Leader role.
What have you enjoyed the most about working for Jumar?
It’s a relaxed environment. I feel like I’m trusted to do my job as an individual and I’m not micro-managed, which is really refreshing. I’ve been given so many opportunities to progress and massively increase my earnings. Hard work is always recognised by financial rewards.
How would you describe the Jumar culture?
Professional and flexible. All of the Senior Management Team have an open-door policy, so any ideas or suggestions I have are listened to.
What are you looking forward to?
I’m looking forward to working closely with our experienced Sales Directors to help me progress even further within the world of IT Sales. We’re in a great position to develop new products with emerging technologies, and I’m looking forward to building some new relationships with companies across the UK.
